Biography

Dr. Lindsay Alvarez-Jones serves as the Lead Veterinarian at AVS Mountainland Animal Hospital and is an active member of the veterinary community as Secretary on the Board of Directors for the NCWV Veterinary Emergency Clinic. A Morgantown, West Virginia native, Dr. Alvarez-Jones knew from an early age that she wanted to become a veterinarian. She began working in the veterinary field at just 16 years old, starting in kennel care and steadily gaining experience across various aspects of the profession.

She earned her bachelor’s degree in Animal Sciences and Nutrition from West Virginia University, followed by her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Tuskegee University in Alabama. In 2012, she returned home to begin her veterinary career alongside Dr. Cary at Mountainland Animal Hospital.

After exploring emergency veterinary medicine for several years, Dr. Alvarez-Jones returned to Mountainland, where she continues to serve the community she calls home. She resides in Arthurdale with her husband of nearly 13 years and their beloved furbabies. In her free time, she enjoys gardening, traveling in their camper, taking Jeep rides through the scenic roads of West Virginia, and spending quality time with family.
